The British Publisher printers of the beginning of the 19th Century, who thought of selling small theatres made of paper to drama loving families, could never imagine that two hundred years later, artists would appropriate this technique as a means in the hands of stage production. All the way from the humble back shops where these theatres were printed, to the contemporary stage, paper theatre happens to be part of the theatrical memory as well as an actual means in the hands of stage production. This is the story told by Alain Lecucq. Publishers, printers, artists, shows... are present on stage, in two dimensions.
